If you have been following this blog, you would know I am taking a break in Vietnam. My most recent column in the Sun reflects this, in which I discuss why Hanoi has such slim and proportionate people compared to Kuala Lumpur.
I wonder what went wrong with Malaysia, the most obese country in the region. A friend noted that Hanoi was like Kuala Lumpur in the 1970s, pre-fast food, pre-American-sized portions. In the evenings, people would go for a walk. They would play badminton or sepak takraw.
What do you think? Are Malaysians large compared to the rest of southeast Asia?
