My most recent column on bullies:
Bullying occurs on a daily basis: people cutting queues; bosses having unreasonable demands; spouses or partners bulldozing their ways; colleagues expecting you to do their work; it happens all the time. Sometimes, we might argue a little, but most times we don’t. We’d rather have peace than conflict, right?
And yet many of us tell the story about David and Goliath, the shepherd boy who overcame a giant, to our children. We use this tale to teach our young to be brave in the face of bullies, to take heart because sometimes those from the humblest background can emerge a champion.
What do you think? Do you suffer bullies gladly?
