Right! It’s my fourth month in the gym, and I think I will now only do quarterly updates, rather than monthly. The muscle gains and fat loss has been awesome but I really am not sure if a monthly update is required anymore.
The good news is I have lost another kilogram: that’s five kilogrammes in five months! I’m really pleased and I believe this is a great sustainable weight loss. Of course, in addition, we don’t know how much muscle I have gain in relation to the fat that I have lost, since I haven’t done any body composition measurements. Still I’m really happy about this!
My March workout was definitely more “bodybuilding” in that it had very specific body splits. It kinda made me much chunkier than before, which I like. It looked like this:
- Day 1: 5×10 Chest & Triceps
- Day 2: 5×10 Back & Biceps
- Day 3: 5×10 Legs
- Day 4: 5×10 Shoulders
The 120 minutes of cardio per week also helped to keep off some of the fat. Unfortunately, by the third week I was beginning to feel somewhat bored, and my body was a little lethargic. I forced myself to continue into the fourth week (which both physically and mentally were better for me) and I am moving into a new routine in April.
The start of the second quarter of 2017 will see me doing an 8×8 routine, which I have never done before. I have done the traditional 10×10, which caused a massive growth, but never tried the modified 8×8. I intend to do this twice or three times a week, and do the usual 120-150 minutes of cardio, coupled with one or two days of yoga. We’ll see what we’ll see!
On a sadder note, my knee got busted last week. I dunno what happened, I was walking around class for the staff of a shelter I volunteer at, adjusting people and suddenly the pain kicked in! Just when I was thinking and telling people that it was practically 100% again! 😞
Hopefully, it will get better again. I have been doing a lot of self care and stretching so we’ll see what happens. It definitely is better than it was a few days ago.
